Yesterday, I told a story while doing the work. Thinking on it, I found this excerpt. It's remarkable how relevant it is to the work we were doing. In the article above in Jimmy's father's observation, what he thought was "blocking and tone" was our daily ritual of finding/refining the behavior of a scene. Other than that, his impression and my memory of the experience are identical. - José Angel Santana

wow....this is amazing :)
Hi Nedra, yes, to see and be a part of a play that was already playing extra-ordinarily well, get refined from moment-to-moment each day in rehearsal, and then to see those sections of the play explode with clarity, spontaneity, and meaning on an ongoing bases over a year, was a life changing moment for all involved. For some perspective, this production immediately preceded, "Scarface"and so, Al Pacino brought his "A" game into that movie. So it's no wonder that with his "A" game in place he would have made such an huge impact, with "Scarface." Some day I'll tell you the stories about how both Jimmy and I were run through the gauntlets of auditions for that movie by Brian DePalma.
